Walmart opens its first U.S. warehouse jobs

WASHINGTON — Walmart said Monday it will hire 800 people to work at its first in-house fulfillment center in the United States, where it plans to start assembling some of its products this year.

The new fulfillment center will be a temporary facility that will be operated by Walmart’s fulfillment division.

It is the company’s first facility outside the United Kingdom.

Walmart, a unit of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., is one of the biggest companies in the world.

The company employs about 2.5 million people worldwide.

It has been searching for new warehouses, which it is already building at its U.K. and Mexico facilities, since it last opened one in 2013.

It has about 4,000 U.k. and 2,400 Mexican warehouses.

It hopes to have 10,000 in-store jobs by 2021.
